Library Thing

Library Thing is WAY too much fun, especially for a cataloger!! I could get sucked into doing this for hours and hours and hours! It's so easy to use, too. However, couldn't find my favorite book - may have to add it myself!!

Oh, and I think this is the link to my Library Thing: http://www.librarything.com/home/ssimpso

Eye chart image generator - fun!

RSS Feeds

I have been following a number of RSS feeds for sometime - makes it much easier to keep up with what's going on in the cataloging world right now - and that's a lot! I thought Technorati and Syndic8 were both easy to use, but much preferred the results and display at Technorati. Topix doesn't cover too many feeds I wanted to subscribe to. I do love my RSS feeds, and I love that there are so many options out there! Honestly, I most often just use Google to find blogs I love and just use the "Sub with Bloglines" favorite to sign myself up!

Technology post

My favorite technology, and I NEVER thought I would say this, is the cell phone. A year or so ago, I didn't even think I needed one, and now, I'm calling, texting, and thinking about getting a new phone with a camera, and maybe even Web access. To have all that power in that little phone that goes everywhere with you is just amazing. I do think that cell phones will really change the way we live, even moreso than they have already. In Japan, cell phone novels are a big hit - reading on your cell phone!

7 1/2 Habits

I think the easiest of the Habits for me is to have confidence in myself as a competent, effective learner. School has always been one of my favorite things, and I love having the time to direct toward learning new skills.

The hardest habit for me, without a doubt, is to use technology to my advantage - all that documentation and all those little things to learn! This program should definitely help with that!

First post!

Well, here I am, writing my first blog post. Of course, the main reason I'm starting the blog is for the 23 Things project, but I've always been interested in the idea of blogging and being part of the huge conversation going on on the Web.
